In 1987, Video Professor produced its first videotape, “Introduction
to DOS.” Since then, literally thousands of hours of
content have been produced by Video Professor on every major software
title available. Mr. Scherer's premise of teaching people
in the fastest yet easiest way possible has remained true through
all productions. His unique “What-You-See-Is-What-You-Do”
teaching methodology has been imitated but never duplicated.
Video Professor's first infomercial was produced in 1990.
In the infomercial, Mr. Scherer sits down with Jeff Conway, star
of the hit movie “Grease” and long-running TV show “Taxi.”
In the span of the half hour segment, Jeff, who had never touched
a computer before, learned how to get up and running on his computer
and has produced a letter to “Louie,” his Taxi co-star,
by the end of the infomercial. Video Professor continues to
produce its long-form infomercials as well as dozens of one-minute
and two-minute advertising spots that reach over 90 million households
many times every month. Video Professor's in-house production team
creates all of the lessons and produces all of its TV and print
advertisements.
“Video
Professor is proud to be America's first choice for easy-to-use
computer software tutorials. Our 'What-You-See-Is-What-You-Do' approach
to learning has taught millions of people -- from stay-at-home moms
and school kids to busy professionals -- how to use their computers,
and we look forward to continuing to provide the highest quality
learning tools for all computer skill levels.”
